Meet the ranch Country waterfowl Team
Our hunts are guided by experienced hunters who are passionate about waterfowl, land stewardship, and providing every client with a great experience in the blind.
Matt Nelson- Owner and Head Guide
Hello, I'm Matt Nelson, owner and head guide of Ranch Country Waterfowl. I was lucky enough to grow up on a large cattle ranch, where I developed a lifelong passion for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.
My father recognized early on that our ranch had incredible hunting potential, and over 25 years ago began sharing it with others through Ranch Country Whitetails. Seeing the friendships and bonds formed through hunting inspired me to follow the same path and eventually start Ranch Country Waterfowl.
Today, our hunts take place across more than 10,000 acres of privately managed land in Southeast Kansas, giving our clients access to excellent habitat and some of the best waterfowl hunting the region offers. Our operation is built around family, close friends, and a shared love for the outdoors.
Our goal is simple- provide great hunts, create lasting memories, and build friendships that keep hunters coming back year after year.
Bosco
Bosco is a valued member of the Ranch Country Waterfowl team, personally trained by Matt. When it’s time to work, he’s all business, with a strong work ethic and an impressive on-and-off switch. Once the hunt begins, he’s locked in—marking birds, tackling tough retrieves, and staying focused until the last bird is collected.
Outside the blind, Bosco goes right back to being a family dog and one of my kids’ best friends. Whether he’s riding in the truck, playing with the kids, or welcoming hunters, he’s as much a part of the family as he is the hunting crew.
Bennett Browning- Waterfowl Guide
Bennett Browning is a fourth-generation row crop farmer from Southern Illinois with a lifelong passion for the outdoors. While he's haunted just about everything with a season, waterfowl hunting is where he feels most at home.
Bennett originally started coming out to the ranch as part of a group that has haunted with Ranch Country Waterfowl for several years. After plenty of time in the blind joking about becoming a guide, he eventually got the opportunity to join the team and quickly proved he belonged.
With years of experience in all types of conditions - from working local birds on lakes and ponds to running migration traffic over big water and dry fields - Bennett understands what it takes to consistently work and finish birds.
Known for running a call like a pro, Bennett brings knowledge, energy, and plenty of humor to the blind. Most importantly he works his tail off to make sure every group has a great hunt and a great experience at the ranch.
Robby Larsen- Waterfowl, Predator & Fishing Guide
Robby Larson was born and raised in Fredonia, Kansas and has spent his life around Hard work, the Outdoors, and Strong Friendships. Robby and RCW owner Matt Nelson have been best friends since 6th grade, and Robby practically grew up on the ranch alongside Matt.
Today Robby lives in Wichita. He owns all Pro fencing LLC, where he has built a reputation for reliability and craftsmanship. In 2024 he officially joined Ranch Country Waterfowl as a guide, bringing steady energy, experience, and a passion for the outdoors to every hunt.
Robby specializes in waterfowl hunts, thermal coyote hunts, and guided fishing trips targeting catfish, and he takes pride in helping hunters and anglers create unforgettable experiences in the field.

Eli Tucker- Waterfowl & Fishing Guide
Eli grew up hunting in southeast Kansas and has spent his entire life learning how birds use the local habitat and migration patterns. His knowledge of how waterfowl move and work in the area makes him a valuable part of the Ranch Country Waterfowl team.
Known for his great sense of humor and easy-going personality, Eli helps keep the blind fun while still working hard to make sure every group has a successful hunt. When he's not guiding, Eli works as an electrician, but he's always ready to jump in and help with larger groups or weekend hunts.
Having spent several years on the ranch now, Eli knows the property like the back of his hand - whether it's setting up a waterfowl hunt or catching bass on one of the many ponds around the ranch he works hard for his clients. Eli's Retriever is Kane.
